Cars of Hope is committed to changing lives by providing safe, reliable vehicles to families in need.

Thanks to the generosity of towing and transportation companies, we can pick up donated cars and transport them to our trusted repair shops at greatly reduced fees. Once there, local mechanics provide parts and labor at cost, ensuring each vehicle is fully repaired and road-ready before being donated. This network of transportation providers, mechanics, and generous donors makes it possible to maximize the impact of every car we receive.

Why donate my car? 

When you donate your car, you’re doing more than just clearing space in your driveway—you’re giving someone a second chance. A working vehicle helps families get to work, access childcare, attend medical appointments, and regain independence.

We accept all cars—running or not—and either repair them for donation or use their value to support our mission. Your generosity directly benefits families in Cook, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Will, and Grundy counties.
